Hello! Apple has pledged to donate $1 million for relief efforts in the ongoing California wildfires. Apple is also encouraging their employees to help by promising to match employee donations two-to-one.
Firefighters from all over the state of California have been fighting wildfires in California since last Sunday, the 8th. The death toll has already risen to at least 24 people by today, the 12th. At least 3500 homes have been destroyed since the fires started.
Smoke has been affecting air quality in major cities like San Francisco and Cupertino where Apple is based out of. Some businesses have had to shut down because of the air quality issues and have recommended individuals to wear air masks.
Tim Cook announced Apples efforts for the wildfires in a tweet:
Our thoughts are with our Bay Area friends & neighbors affected by wildfires. Please stay safe! Apple is donating to aid relief efforts.
